So Ayi Nii Aryee, an 18 year old football player from Ghana , has been stuck in Diosdado Macapagal International Airport for more than six weeks. The former U.S. airbase, just north of Manila in my home country the Philippines, would not issue him a tourist visa because his student visa application from Singapore failed during processing. Aryee has no proof of a return flight so he now walks around like Tom Hanks did in the film The Terminal, lost in his yellow football jersey and blue jogging pants, wandering through concourses and kiosks. He rejected an offer to fly back to Ghana and he is awaiting word on his appeal from Singapore. You can read more about his story here.
