Little Children...

" After all, what was adult life but one moment of weakness piled on top of another? "

That's a line from one of my favorite books from 2004, " Little Children" by Tom Perrotta. The movie adaptation created quite a buzz at this year's Toronto's International Film Festival. Critics are raving about Kate Winslet's performance as a discontented mother living in suburbia and Todd Field ( In the Bedroom) is also getting kudos for his direction. So when you get the chance, check out the book. You'll be glad you did. And catch the movie when it hits a theatre near you. When has Kate Winslet ever let you down?

Another great Tom Perrotta book to read is " Election." That novel was also adapted to a wonderful film that starred Reese Witherspoon & Matthew Broderick.

" Tom Perrotta...is like an American Nick Hornby;companionable and humane, lighthearted and suprisingly touching." -Newsweek
