Expedia, a leading travel website, carried out a travel survey based on the responses of 15,000 Europeans hoteliers and lo and behold, the world’s best tourists are…the Japanese. Japanese tourists, known for being courteous and clean, racked up 35% more votes than the second place Americans. Swiss tourists were lauded for being quiet and considerate and rounded out the top three. Americans were picked as the world’s biggest vacation spenders followed by the Russians and the British. The British were also touted as the fifth worst tourist nation due to their rude behavior, noise, and lousy attitude towards tipping. The worst tourist nation according to the survey was France, followed by India, China and Russia.
