A Cypriot woman is on trial for sorcery after claiming she could undo a curse that currently haunts a man’s relationship with his wife and his mother-in-law. Her cure was a remedy which consisted of an egg, underpants, a nail and finally some pubic hair. "She cracked the egg into my underpants," the 37-year-old man told a district court in the capital Nicosia. The accused woman was charging 5,000 Cyprus pounds ($12, 195 US dollars) for the cure. Although sorcery is banned in Cyprus, many Cypriots indulge in card readings and palmistry.
